Anthem for Doomed Youth by Wilfred Owen: The Analysis

hymn for Doomed juvenility What transit-bells for these who die as cattle? Only the monstrous ira of the throttles. Only the stuttering rifles rapid sound Can patter out their hasty orisons. No mockeries right off for them; no prayers nor bells,                                    5 Nor any voice of sorrow save the choirs - The shrill, de mented choirs of bawling shells; And bugles c alto tiehering for them from sad shires. What candles may be held to speed them all? Not in the hand of boys, further in their mettles                                                      10          Shall shine the sanctum glimmers of good-byes. The pallor of girls brows shall be their pall; Their flowers the incompleteness of patient minds, And from each one slow dusk a drawing-down of blinds.                      Â Â Â Â Â Â                             Wilfred Owen (1893-1918) Anthem for Doomed Youth was set in solid ground warfare I. This poem concentrates in general on the horror of war, and especially the terminal of young men on the front line. The main humble of the poem is of a funeral. The poem asks if there im luck be a funeral for them. It is tell that all of these boys are dying and non purge getting a respectable funeral. What real funeral will the boys have? No passing bells will ring for the stagnant; just machine gun and rifle fire. No mourning voice - except for choirs of howl shells and bugles calling. Their families are non even there; they are still at home, waiting and worrying. In the end of the poem, the family gets the news of their sons death. The blinds are pull as a sign of mourning (it was the custom during World War I to draw down the blinds in homes where a son had been lost).         The clai m Anthem for Doomed... ! I skipped the intro part (name and stuff) and jumped into the essay. While I was narration I was reading it with the eye of an 11th grader and was quite strike with the level of writing. Of course I waived it off thinking it was a freshman in highschool or something to that extent. Obviously, I was mistaken. It is not my intention to be cruel, but this essay does not appear collage level. The sentances are each run on, or fragmented, or just far alike simple. You could have done so much more with this essay, not to mention you could have travel the level of the essay alone by applying more get along with terminology, and a high standard for overall flow.
